Our staff talk to thousands of prospective students across Australia and around the world, and almost always get asked the very same question: why should I choose law at ANU?
Our entry requirements
While getting into law is challenging, it's not impossible. We have guaranteed selection rank for our Bachelor of Laws (Honours) that is published at the start of the year, and offer equity adjustments for students who have experienced disadvantage during Year 11 or 12.
Across education and other industries, ‘quality’ is perhaps one of the most over-used terms.
But at ANU Law, we’re committed to quality in everything we do – and it’s measurable with real results. Our quality is demonstrated by consistently high global rankings, teachers and researchers who are recognised as and over 20,000 working to make a difference in Australia and around the world.
With particular expertise in , and , are frequently called on by parliamentary committees, peak bodies, professional associations and the media for analysis, advice and guidance on the law, and what might be done to improve it.
To help students to balance study with full-time employment and other personal commitments, ANU Law places an emphasis on flexibility. In our Masters degree, this includes clustering lectures over ‘intensive’ periods of 3-5 days – reducing the need for students to relocate to Canberra, or travel to the campus on multiple occasions. In our Juris Doctor degree we make extensive use of online learning, enabling you to structure study when and where it suits you best.
At ANU Law, students play an important part in the direction and decision-making of the College. Here, you’ll find teachers who will encourage your input and feedback, and who are open and available if you need support, guidance or further information.
With staff and students from over 100 countries, ANU Law School is home to a diverse and dynamic community. Additionally, we offer a range of courses which provide students with the opportunity to study in one of several locations overseas to develop a global perspective on law and legal practice.
Our diversity is equally applicable to our degrees and fields of study. For example, through our Flexible Double Degree, you can combine law with over 30 other disciplines, providing you with the ability to create a double degree that reflects your interests and career goals.
