The Future of Australian Legal Education (Lawbook Co, 2018) was launched in Sydney in December 2018, in Supreme Court of New South Wales.

The book – which collates papers given at The Future of Australian Legal Education conference held in Sydney in 2017 to mark the 10th anniversary of the Australian Academy of Law, the 90th anniversary of the Australian Law Journal, and the 30th anniversary of the Pearce Report on Australian Law Schools – is a joint venture between the Academy and the journal.

ANU Emeritus Professor Michael Coper, co-edited the book with the Honorary Kevin Lindgren AM QC and Justice Francois Kunc, and wrote an introduction and extensive overview.

ANU scholars including PhD candidate Andrew Henderson, Professor Dennis Pearce AO FAAL, former ANU Professor Simon Rice, and Visiting Fellow Pip Ryan, wrote various chapters.

The book covers nearly all aspects of legal education, from regulatory framework, to the curriculum, to the impact of technology, to what makes a good lawyer.
