International Student Orientation Program - Semester 2, 2019

The International Student Orientation Program consists of a series of excursions to various key cultural and political sites and landmarks in Canberra. The program is designed to introduce new international and exchange students to Australian political and cultural institutions which are relevant to the study of Australian law.
The program runs weekly throughout the semester and includes a combination of on- and off-campus sessions.
A free tour bus is provided to transport registered participants to and from off-campus locations. Places on the bus are limited. Registration is essential.

Past Sessions
Week 1 - Welcome to ANU (on-campus)
Join Dr Josh Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), ANU College of Law, for the first session of the International Student Orientation Program. This session will provide participants with the opportunity to meet other students and discuss their first week at ANU in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
Venue: Phillipa Weeks Staff Library, Building 7, Level 4, ANU College of Law
Week 2 - Field trip to Parliament House (off-campus)
Join Dr Josh Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), ANU College of Law, for an excursion to Parliament House. During this session, you will be taken by bus to Parliament House where you will get to experience Australia's robust democracy in action.
Places on the bus are limited. Registration essential.
Pick up location
The bus will pick students up from outside the ANU College of Law (6A Fellows Road) at 10am (please arrive 5 minutes before). The bus will return students to the College at 12pm.
Week 3 - Orientation (on-campus)
Join Dr Josh Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), ANU College of Law, for an on-campus session of the International Student Orientation Program. This session will provide participants with the opportunity to meet other students and discuss their week at ANU in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.

Week 4 - Field trip to Museum of Australian Democracy (off-campus)
Join Dr. Josh Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), ANU College of Law, for an excursion to the Museum of Australian Democracy (Old Parliament House).
During this session, you will be taken by bus to the Museum of Australian Democracy where the staff will lead you through historic spaces such as the former Senate and House of Representatives chambers and the Prime Minister’s suite, and tell stories of events and people associated with them.

Week 5 - Orientation (on-campus)
Join Senior Lecturer Dr. Joshua Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), and fellow students from the ANU College of Law, for the fifth session of the international student orientation series.

Week 8 - Field trip to National Gallery of Australia (off-campus)
Join Dr. Josh Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), ANU College of Law, for an excursion to the National Gallery of Australia.
During this session, you will be taken by bus to the National Gallery of Australia. In the National Gallery of Australia, one of the largest art museums in the country, you will be able to see some of the 166,000 works of art from around the world.

Week 9 - Orientation (on-campus)
Join Senior Lecturer Dr. Joshua Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), and fellow students from the ANU College of Law, for the ninth session of the international student orientation series.
Venue: Phillipa Weeks Staff Library, Building 7, Level 4, ANU College of Law
Week 10 - Field trip to High Court of Australia (off-campus)
Join Dr. Josh Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), ANU College of Law, for an excursion to the High Court of Australia.
During this session, you will be taken by bus to the High Court of Australia, where the staff will lead you through the the Great Hall, which includes an educational display and video area, and often features exhibitions or performances by cultural organisations; and the three courtrooms, which are the focus of the building's activities.
