Mentoring

At the ANU College of Law we value collegiality and balance.

We are committed to helping you become part of that collegiality and to feel that you are known and supported as an individual student. Critical to this is forming relationships with staff and other students.

Peer Assisted Learning (PAL)

The College's Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) program is aimed at helping first-year law students to learn and practice foundational legal skills they will need for the rest of their law degree. PAL run weekly study sessions facilitated by later year law students which are held during Semester. This also gives students a chance to form relationships with and learn from older students as well as fellow first-year students.

Contact PAL on email,  T+ 61 2 6125 5588 or Facebook.

I like that the mentors are later-year students. I feel like they understand more about what we’re going through because they have been through exactly the same things a couple of years ago.

I like how we get to talk to other students and discuss issues with them. I think that makes it easier to understand and makes the questions more interesting.

It’s not as formal a learning environment as tutorials or lectures, so there’s more opportunity to ask questions that would have been inappropriate to ask in tutorials.
